Hi All...I'd like to welcome you to my blog for my home business of Sew Uniquely Personalized!!
This blog will serve as a webpage for my business; as well as, for any of my other musings, crafts, etc. I have a variety of interests, as you will find out. I love to create things from blankets, pot holders, printable forms, wreaths, etc. I wish I could be a housewife and stay home to do all of these things I enjoy. But, alas...I'm an administrative assistant by day and crafter the rest of the time. Maybe one day!!
I used to think that if I didn't have a job, I'd be bored out of my mind. I never could have imagined not having a job. But, since I found crafting in 2008, I can't wait for the day I can "retire" or have my fiancee say, "Honey, you can quit your job!!" Hey, it could happen...right? A girl can dream anyway.
I've posted a slideshow below of some of the items I've made in the past. There is also a slideshow of available fleece on hand. Since I've just started with this, I have quite a bit more fleece I need to load and will hopefully get to over the next week or two.
I thought I'd share with you how my addiction got started...One year for Christmas, I decided that I wanted to make gifts for my family for Christmas instead of the typical store-bought item, that usually was forgotten about within months! After talking to a friend, she introduced me to fleece blankets. What I liked about them was the fact they weren't tied, but sewn together. We had decided to make these for our families in 2008. But, we wanted to add a special touch to them, so we decided we would have everyone's names embroidered on their blankets. We had contacted a local business to do this for us, but due to some machine malfunctions, they were unable to help us. After much research, we bought a sewing/embroidery machine combo & did it ourselves. So, for whatever reason, I decided that it was absolutely possible to embroider & sew 20 blankets within 48 hours!! (Apparently I think I'm Super Woman!!) But, let me tell you...I didn't quite get them finished, was super tired, and very emotional!! haha But, once I was finished, my family liked them so much, they encouraged me to start selling them. So, in March 2009, my family bought a sewing machine for me for my birthday and here we are. It's probably the most used birthday gift of all time!!
I was super happy that it didn't take long for the orders to start coming in. I think one of the main draws to the blankets, besides the fact they are cozy and warm, is they can be personalized with a name and the theme of the blanket can be chosen to personalize it even more. If you have a favorite sports team, favorite animal, favorite color, favorite food, whatever...they probably make fleece for it.

- Choose name to be embroidered
- Can add patches, flowers, flags, etc. ... just tell me what you're looking for ($4)
- If you desire, can add satin binding (you choose color) for $8
- Prices vary by size, type of fleece, design of fleece ... please contact me for a quote
